    Your body is made up of many organs and systems and unfortunately most of them have harmful toxins. This is why a complete body detox is important.

    Many of us know about colon cleansing and indeed it’s a very important cleanse to do as this is where the body can eliminate toxins from the body. However, the liver and kidneys are also compromised. The job of these two organs is to filter and if the body is in serious need of a detox, you can be sure that the liver and kidneys are ‘clogged’ with excess waste and can only partially do their job. This is why these organs should also be addressed.

    The skin is your body’s largest organ and should be fresh and clear all over (not just the face) – is yours? If you have problem skin then at least here you can see the effect of toxins or hormonal imbalance.

    The more you eliminate toxins, the less build up there is in your body and the less clogged important organs become. This should be a main priority. To do this, a new dietary approach may be necessary.

    Milk and dairy products tend to clog and form mucus so give them a rest for a while. Instead make sure you eat fresh fruit every day – in the morning is the absolute best, but really anytime during the day. When you feel hungry in between meals, eat a piece of fruit. Fruit is the best to flush out those toxins from your system.

    Another great help would be a daily dose of flaxseed or psyllium husks. Before you go to bed, soak either one (several tablespoons suffice) in a glass of water. In the morning, preferably on an empty stomach, ‘drink’ or spoon this. I sometimes add natural yoghurt (fermented natural (also no sugar/sweetener) yoghurt helps your system, even though it’s a milk product – but make sure it has no additives) to help this drink taste better. If you do this, you will have bowel movements and you should be having them twice a day and feel ‘empty’ afterwards.

    Drinking plenty of good quality water also helps flush out the toxins. If you are taking flaxseed or psyllium husks, this is imperative/very important.

    Eat fresh vegetables every day – don’t overcook them.

    Eat a daily salad

    These simple and inexpensive steps will help a complete body detox enormously.
